Dear Visitation Families,
Last Wednesday was Administrative Assistant's Day. The students and staff showered our office staff with cards, flowers, balloons, chocolate, and gifts. They deserved every bit and more!
Margie and Sylvia do a wonderful job welcoming all of us each day, answering questions, bandaging skinned knees, taking temperatures, organizing paperwork, ordering supplies, running copies, and generally just keeping the school running smoothly. We thank them for everything they do.
SPEAKING OF HELPING… You would really make Margie's job easier if you would return her phone messages regarding making an appointment for signing your 2007-08 contract and also the need for some families to sign their current time, talent, and treasure Stewardship card(s) in order to receive the in-parish tuition rate.
We will be calling to schedule families that have requested financial scholarships very soon. Please remember that at the time of signing your contract, you need to be prepared to pay the registration fee. The instructional fee(s) are due on June 1st.
ANOTHER REMINDER: According to our yearly contract, all commitment hours and fund-raising dollars need to be fulfilled by Friday, April 27th. You will be billed the balance of the hours at a rate of $10.00 per hour as well as the balance of any fund-raising dollars not yet fulfilled. That bill must be paid by May 25th or it will be added to next year’s tuition. Please help us by fulfilling your commitment.
SPIRIT WEEK EVENTS: Next Monday through Friday is Spirit Week and Teacher Appreciation Week. As a reminder, Monday, May 7th is Crazy Day (wear mismatched and silly clothes). Tuesday, May 8th is Twin Day (two or more dress alike). Wednesday, May 9th is Dress like an ‘80’s Celebrity, Thursday, May 10th is Pajama Day and Friday, May 11th is Dress in your Sunday Best as it is also May Crowning.
SPRING SPECTACULAR: Friday, May 11th is also our Spring Spectacular at 7 PM in the Upper Hall. Beginning Band, Advanced Band, each class, and selected talent acts will entertain us. If your child will be dressed in a costume, you must have her/him at Collier Center by 6:30 PM so that there is time to get costumes on. Check with your child's teacher if you're not sure.
SUMMER READING PROGRAM: Last year's summer reading program was such a great success that Ms. Harris is going to offer it again this year. Please check the flyer in today's note home for more information. If you haven't already registered and wish to, sign the flyer and send it back to receive the registration form.
MS. BOWEN'S MATH SUMMER CAMP: We have inserted a Summer Math Camp flyer for our current fourth, fifth and sixth grade students into your Thursday envelope. Ms. Bowen is offering this math camp to children entering 5th/6th grade and current 6th graders who need to polish up their math skills.
Camp will be held June 25 - July 31, Monday - Thursday, 9 am - Noon. The cost is $200. If you have any questions regarding eligibility or need a new form, please call the school office.
REMINDER: OPEN FOR BUSINESS: The Uniform Exchange is now open, so bring in those uniforms that have grown too small and exchange them for the next size up! Check it all out in the PTO Room, across from the Principal's office.
AND PRAYERS PLEASE: In the last few weeks a few of our families have had loved ones deploy to Iraq. Please keep them and their families in your prayers for a safe and speedy return.
Peace and the Blessings,
Sheila Harrison
