Thursday Note Home

Dear Visitation Families,

Last week we appreciated and thanked our wonderful office staff. This week we are celebrating our wonderful teachers as it is National Teacher Appreciation Week. Our teachers and staff have received flowers from PTO and Fr. Tuan. Each day there have been scrumptious snacks and goodies to eat.

Our faculty is made up of incredibly dedicated individuals who view their positions here as ministries and vocations. Please be sure to thank our teachers when you see them this week!

JUST WHAT IS THE MONKEY WALK? With all the goodies around in the past few weeks, Mrs. Todd has set up an aerobic walking trail through the school to help the staff work off those extra calories. The path starts by the front door. You follow the arrows and the monkey pictures as it takes you upstairs and down. Several classes have done the monkey walk, as well as several of the staff.

If you have a few extra minutes and want to burn a few calories, feel free to do the monkey walk!

CONGRATULATIONS: The following Visitation School students will make their First Communion this Saturday at the Visitation Church 5:00 Mass: Anne, Taylor, Carson, Matt, Madisen, Juliana, Mitchell, Spencer, Bransen, Sean, Gabe, and Grace.

AND MORE CONGRATULATIONS: To our nine Visitation School Cub Scouts who received their Religious Emblems. This is a Catholic Church spiritual development programs for boys who are Scouts but is not specifically part of the Scouting program. FACULTY CHANGES: There are currently three staff who are not returning to Visitation Catholic School next year. Please join me in thanking our 5th grade teacher Barbara Bucknum, our Pre-Kindergarten at St. Ann teacher Patricia Teich, and our long-term substitute Kindergarten teacher Marjorie Hoffmann for their service and dedication to Visitation Catholic School. We wish them well in their future endeavors.

REMINDER: SPRING SPECTACULAR: Friday, May 11th is also our “Spring Spectacular” at 7 PM in the Upper Hall. Beginning Band, Advanced Band, each class, and selected talent acts will entertain us. If your child will be dressed in a costume, you must have her/him at Collier Center by 6:30 PM so that there is time to get costumes on. Check with your child’s teacher if you’re not sure.

After the Pre-K’s performance they will be released to their parents. Kindergarten through 3rd grade will come over to the school cafeteria and may be picked up by parents at intermission. The 4th through 8th grades will go over to Collier Center after their performances and can be picked up there at intermission.

AND PRAYERS PLEASE: In the last few weeks a few of our families have had loved ones deploy to Iraq. Please continue to keep them and their families in your prayers for a safe and speedy return

Peace and the Blessings,
